Preliminary heats (if required) for the competition. The competition final follows in the evening. Chef are ask to produce a meal that highlights Yorkshire ingredients. Each heat lasts 40 minutes, the competitors should produce 2 courses.

  • Competitors will be charged a £10 entry fee.
  • You must bring your ingredients with you, which means you can choose what to cook. However the cost of ingredients must not exceed £15.00 each time (This way it is not costing your employer too much, even if you are cooking the menu twice; for the heat and the final)
  • You must be 21 or under on 18th September 2009.
  • You should be Chef De Partie or a more junior grade.

Temujin is the birth name of Genghis Khan (1162 - 1227) who ruled the Mongol Empire for 45 years. Temujin's warriors would cook thinly sliced meat, spices and vegetables on their upturned shields in between battles. This form of cooking, known as Mongolian BBQ has become very popular.
