Stephanie Moon's Yorkshire Produce Dinner at the Mansion HouseVenue: Mansion House (St Helen's Square) Enjoy an intimate 'Black Tie' dinner hosted by the Lord Mayor. The menu of Yorkshire produce (largely from the Dales) is cooked by Rudding Park's Chef, Stephanie Moon.

This is first of two dinners to be held in the Dining Room of York Mansion House. Each dinner is cooked by a leading Yorkshire Chef and features the produce of a well defined small geographical area in Yorkshire.

The Chocolate MarketVenue: The Fountain Café, Parliament Street A range of artisan chocolate makers take stands at the centre of the Festival’s market, around the Fountain in Parliament Street.
Stand holders include local chocolatier Sophie Jewett who is winning a reputation for highly original chocolate fillings including York Ale, Local Honey and Yorkshire Blue Cheese. Others include Choc Affair, a local hand made chocolate producer, who uses Fair-trade chocolate to make their luxury gifts. Also, see the White Rabbit Chocolate Company whose gifts and chocolates can also be purchased on-line. |

Primary schools cookery with Sharmini ThomasVenue: The Guildhall (off St Helen's Square) The big unseen element of the Festival - these closed schools' events allow just over 200 children a day to cook as part of the Festival. Primary Schools Tuesday and Wednesday. Secondary Thursday and Friday.
Sharmini Thomas is a firm favourite at York Food Festival. Sharmini lives and teaches in Yorkshire, even though she is originally from Kerala, India. |
