MasterChef finalist to Launch "Dine at My Table" - the theme of the 2011 York Food Festival

The York Food Festival invites any York resident to offer meals in their own homes, as part of this year’s Festival theme, Dine at MY Table.  To launch Dine at My Table, York resident and MasterChef finalist, Sara Danesin Medio, will join the new Lord Mayor of York, Cllr David Horton at his table in York Mansion House on May 28th.

The Dinner, on the 28th, will be cooked by York Chef Michael Hjort, of Award Winning Melton’s Restaurant.    Michael, who is also the Festival Director, said "The Mansion House is perhaps York's most unusual home. We want everyone in the city to be able to participate in the Festival and what better way than at home?"  Like other Dine at My Table events, tickets are available to the public through the Festival's website.

Sara, who will host her own event in September said, "I am honoured and proud to be taking part in this year's York Food Festival and in particular the opportunity to be part of Dine at My Table. I am sure I will be able to not only contribute to the high quality of the Festival and its many activities but also promote local produce as well as the city of York."

Anyone who wishes to offer a Dine at My Table event in September should contact the Festival - there is more detail on http://www.yorkfoodfestival.com/festival.php?cat=17

Tickets for the Mansion House dinner are available on www.yorkfoodfestival.com and cost £40.00 (which includes wine).
