Other Regional Food Festivals- (top)

If you are interested in food festivals generally, there are two other significant food festivals in the North Yorkshire area.

  • The Dales Food Festival a three day event held at Leyburn in the heart of Wensleydale celebrating the local food, drink and farming of the region. 80 local food stands under one roof - cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs - farming display with young animals and farming craft demonstrations - children's attractions - festive music - beer festival - food and drink galore - and lots more.
  • Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival Huddersfield West Yorkshire's amazing food and drink festival with over 45 local and regional stallholders tempting you with tastes and products from all around the world. The cookery demonstrations are held each day with chefs from local restaurants and different cultures sharing their secrets and recipes. Children get a chance to learn about food in a cookery theatre as well as get entertained with children's story telling, balloon modeling and face painting. The festival is open until 6pm each night so we urge you to come down with the family and enjoy a meal in the surroundings of Huddersfield's beautiful architecture.
  • Swinton Park Alfresco Parkland Food Festival. This is where Gate to Plate takes on a whole new meaning. In the parkland have a “grazing meal” where you can take a gentle stroll in the grounds via the deer park, woodlands and walled garden, stopping off to taste the freshest seasonal dishes you can imagine, made using locally sourced ingredients. Attractions include demonstrations by food producers, a Cookery Demonstration Theatre and a Gourmet Retail Marquee, along with wild food and walled garden tours throughout the day and flying demonstrations from the Bird of Prey Centre. The Twilight evening event includes live music, barbecue and bar at the Deerhouse and entertainment.

  • Slow Food North Yorkshire gives you all the local information regarding the Slow Food movement. Slow Food originated in Italy, as a protest against 'Fast Food,' but is now an international movement. Discover upcoming events; learn more about the Slow Food movement and its activities; gather local "slow buying" tips; and of course, join up as a new member.
  • North Yorkshire Local Food Find out about North Yorkshire's Local Produce and where you can buy it. Also features cafes, pubs and restaurants who source their produce locally, alongside retail outlets ranging from local butchers through to high street delis, all with a common aim, to promote the finest of fresh local produce.
