The Food Factory
Have you ever wondered how basic ingredients become the foods we love? Get to grips with the processes involved in the Food Factory!
The Food Factory takes you on a hands-on tour exploring the production of several well known food items and York itself. It’s a great opportunity to get your hands dirty (if you want to) making some of these foods yourselves and at each station you’ll get something to try or takeaway!
Locations: Parliament Street, Coppergate Centre & the Museum Gardens.
Times: Fri 17th- Sun 19th 10:30-6pm (last entry at 4pm). Mon 20th-Fri 24th 3:30-5:30pm (last entry at 4:30pm). Sat 25th and Sun 26th 10:30-6pm (last entry at 4pm)
Price: FREE. If you can, we kindly ask for donations to cover food costs.
Due to the technical nature of some of the workshops this activity is most suitable to Adults and Family groups with children over 5, but if you want to bring your little one along there’s still plenty for them to do!
The list of activities changes daily and is available from the Information Point in the centre of Parliament Street. Three activities are available each day including smoking your own food, making pasta, bread, butter, chocolate lollipops, biscuits & ice-cream.
It’s best to book online but there will also be some availability on the day. Book by clicking here
