MasterChef 2023 Quarter Finalist Owen Diaram showcases flavours from his South African Indian heritage, complimented by fresh, local seasonal Yorkshire produce.
Chef John Torode described Owen as the ‘Flavour Master’ during his MasterChef appearances earlier this year. “Everything he cooks, makes the crowd happy!”
Self taught chef-proprietor Stephen Andrews has been winning national plaudits with his Micklegate restaurant for very good reason. We’re over the moon to welcome him to our Demonstration line up for the first time.
Pasta legend Alessandro can currently be found plying his trade from The Angel on the Green and has frequently featured in national press thanks to his remarkably well executed dishes.
For this demonstration Alessandro will be joined by Holy Mountain Kitchen and Bobbin’s Bagel’s. This is bound to be memorable and a great preview to the pop-up they’ll be collaborating on later in the day at St Crux
Joining us will be Matt Leivers, head chef of this new restaurant in the former Terry’s factory on Bishopthorpe Road. Matt previously worked for Andrew Pern over a period of years and is flourishing in his new venture.

It’s a real pleasure to be working with Yahala Mataam at this years event. They’ll be taking over our Demonstration Theatre for the day to showcase a number of refugee groups being hosted in York.
Yahala Mataam is a Social Enterprise hosted by York City Church. It’s mission is to give opportunity, build confidence & instil dignity in the lives of Refugees and Asylum Seekers in York. It does this through a Pop-up restaurant, street food stand and a cookery school.

After wowing York with their burgers in Spark, Sloppy’s have taken that momentum to Woodthorpe and broadened their menu. The burgers are still top-notch though!

In ’22-’23 alone, York Foodbank distributed 3427 emergency food packages representing 9521 people in York, all referred to by local professionals. An increase of over 60% from the previous financial year.
