Ashley McCarthy, an experienced chocolatier and professionally trained chef, known for being on Channel 4’s Extreme Chocolate Makers, will be showcasing his chocolate sculpturing skills live during the festival.
Visit twice at the beginning and end of the day to see the creation progress over the 5 days of the Festival.
As Ashley works and when he’s on a break you will be able to see a montage of last year’s creation on the video screen behind him.
Daily demonstrations and tastings will be part of the festival programme. Check back closer to the festival dates for participants and timings.
Demonstrations and Tastings are popular events at the Festival, providing a platform for local chefs and businesses to showcase their talents and engage with the community, while offering festival attendees the opportunity to learn new recipes and cooking techniques and / or partake in some tutored tastings.
We are currently putting together a programme of demonstrations and tastings, anyone who is interested in demonstrating their culinary skills / products are encouraged to contact the festival’s administration team at admin@yorkfoodfestival.com.
Did you know that the York Food Festival is a not-for-profit organisation?
Any money generated (from trader fees to ticket sales) goes back into the festival to improve it year after year.
During the festivals we run this demonstration programme for all visitors to the festival to attend.
Please consider making a donation to support this programme and keep it running.
