Celebrating our 70th anniversary of city twinning with Dijon, Lucy Hjort is hosting an informal, yet informative tasting to showcase all that the Burgundy region has to offer. The Chopping Block will provide 3 courses of their classic French cuisine.
Alessandro regularly sells out spaces such as Bluebird Bakery with his pop-ups alongside running the kitchen at The Angel on the Green. For this event he’ll be joined by the guys from Holy Mountain Kitchen and Bobbin’s Bagels.

Last year’s winners in the Traditional Category where Mountfield of Bubwith and in the Flavoured Category, Ged Bell. We hope they’ll both be back to defend their Titles!
The Grand, York is delighted to be hosting an exclusive celebratory dinner in collaboration with York Food Festival to mark a magnificent 70 years of Dijon, France and our beautiful city of York being twinned
The event will be attended by Dijon officials and York’s civic party, the memorable event will be held the five-star hotel’s Grand Boardroom, which boasts original Edwardian features and a palatial atmosphere.
Guests of the event will indulge in a five-course meal with perfectly-paired wine, canapes, coffee and petit fours, Legacy’s Head Chef Ahmed Abdalla and Executive Head Chef Kevin Bonello, who previously headed up the culinary team and earned a Michelin Star at De Mondion in Mdina, Malta. The menu finds a synergy between French and British cuisine, with Legacy’s values of sustainability, seasonality and locality at the events’ core.
Tickets go on sale from the 30th of August to the public at £95 per person, inclusive of food and wine.
