Did you know that before restoration Bedern Hall was part of William Wright’s Pork Butchers, famed across the City for their pies.? In search of the perfect pie, they’ve invited local pie makers to enter their very best pies for you to judge and vote for your favourites.


Local ales from Yorkshire Heart Brewery, the perfect pie partner, available to buy

We’ve partnered with The Company of Butchers of the City of York who sponsored the trophy and gave guidance on judging.

Last year’s winners in the Traditional Category where Mountfield of Bubwith and in the Flavoured Category, Ged Bell. We hope they’ll both be back to defend their Titles!

The Grand Dijon Dinner

The Grand Boardroom, Station Rise, North Yorkshire, York YO1 6GD 19:00 until 22:00

The Grand, York is delighted to be hosting an exclusive celebratory dinner in collaboration with York Food Festival to mark a magnificent 70 years of Dijon, France and our beautiful city of York being twinned

The event will be attended by Dijon officials and York’s civic party, the memorable event will be held the five-star hotel’s Grand Boardroom, which boasts original Edwardian features and a palatial atmosphere.

Guests of the event will indulge in a five-course meal with perfectly-paired wine, canapes, coffee and petit fours, Legacy’s Head Chef Ahmed Abdalla and Executive Head Chef Kevin Bonello, who previously headed up the culinary team and earned a Michelin Star at De Mondion in Mdina, Malta. The menu finds a synergy between French and British cuisine, with Legacy’s values of sustainability, seasonality and locality at the events’ core.

Tickets go on sale from the 30th of August to the public at £95 per person, inclusive of food and wine.
