James Dowdeswell, as seen on “Russell Howard’s Good News” and “Ricky Gervais’ Extras” shares his passion for the funny side of Beer. James was born and brewed in a West Country pub. He is the author of “The Pub Manifesto: A Comedian Stands Up For Pubs” published by CAMRA. Previous Fringe shows include ” Perfect Pub” and superb pun titled “Wine , Ale & I”

York has been partnered with Dijon, France for 70 years, to celebrate, Love Cheese has partnered with Matt from York Wine Club. They will select some of their favourite French wines which Jordan will be pairing with British Cheeses inspired by French Classics. This will make for a truly delicious event.

Join top bartenders from Impossible for an exclusive insight into how they create our infamous signature cocktails – prepare for some delicious samples, epic flavours combos and of course some tips and tricks on how to take your cocktail making to the next level.
Your session begins where we talk you through the history of distilling and its various styles and methods including the process of how we gain our distinctive Fairfax taste.
You’ll then head into our Blending Table where we will explain and demonstrate how to taste our fantastic range of distillates. This is where the fun begins! The idea is you pick about a dozen of your favourite flavours from our collection, ranging from fruits, berries, flowers, spices, tropical fruits and herbs. And from these you create your own recipe for the three drinks you are going to create. We offer Gin, Rum and Vodka as a base spirit. Once you are happy with your newly created spirit, you then head over to the bar and pick your mixer of choice and a garnish to suit. The experience also includes a selection of nibbles to ensure you’re feed as well as watered!
In celebration of the the start of October and the world-famous Oktoberfest, Brew York is brewing some special beers. Join them on a tasting to explore some classic European styles of beer, and talk about the history of European beer.
