York Mela is a free event, and is open to anyone who wants to learn more, be entertained and meet new people as well as enjoy different music, art and food in the heart of York.  The programme includes traditional displays of music/dance performance, with a range of stalls selling traditional food. York Health  Mela appeals to all ages and races, with everyone welcome to come and enjoy the event in a relaxed atmosphere.

Planet Food: A Doughnut Economics Project

City Screen, St Martins Courtyard, 13-17 Coney St, York YO1 9QL 18:30 until 21:00

A documentary about a pay as you feel York food waste project has been filmed to help celebrate its fifth anniversary.

This is a short film being shown at City Screen on Tuesday 26th September 2023, 6:30pm to coincide with York Environment Week. The screening is part of Picturehouse’s ‘Green Screen’ series and precedes Josh Appignanesi’s film, My Extinction.

Please book a ticket if you would like to come.  If you miss the film you are still welcome to join for the 0-Waste + Doughnut Economics discussion panel + refreshments afterwards, this will be in The Basement from 8:30pm.
